About the Company
Australia's leading Maritime Navigation and Communications provided with over 30 years in operation is seeking an experienced Maritime Services Manager to oversee their national operations. This role will oversee a team and ensure the supply, servicing, support and installation of Navigation and Communications electronics aboard commercial shipping, Oil & Gas, Passenger Shipping, and Defence vessels throughout Australian waters.

About the role
This exciting role entails service delivery, support and project installation of quality and cutting edge high-seas navigation and communications systems. This role requires working to a high standard and often to tight timescales, and on a wide range of vessels from container ships and ferries to superyachts and Defence craft of all sizes.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

    • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Service division, including regional branches, and ensuring all work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
    • Plan and allocate resources effectively, including scheduling engineers, engaging contractors and managing workload distribution.
    • Implement and monitor operational processes to improve productivity and service quality.

Team Management

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of service engineers and support staff.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear KPIs, and support professional development.
    • Promote a positive, safety-focused, and customer-centric team culture.

Risk, Compliance & Quality Assurance

    • Identify, assess, and mitigate service risks.
    • Ensure adherence to regulatory, safety, and quality standards in all activities.
    • Monitor quality assurance to meet agreed-upon standards and compliance requirements.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

    • Act as the primary point of escalation for service-related inquiries and issues.
    • Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring excellent service experience and retention.
    • Prepare service proposals, quotations, and operational reports for internal and external stakeholders
    • Track and manage customer service agreements, ensuring compliance with KPIs, SLAs, and contract terms.


Key Requirements

    • Experience in managing maintenance or sustainment programs, preferably within the marine or defence industries.
    • Experience in a similar role, or in a customer-facing role
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Demonstration of growing a service business YoY
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to high standards of compliance and safety.
