About the role
We are looking for the following ICT specialists such as Network engineers, Network and security engineers, ICT Security specialists work with one of our federal government client to work on ICT Infrastructure projects. The key function is to deliver security and network infrastructure capabilities both in-house and in a shared service arrangement. You will be responsible for overseeing the management of the design, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of ICT Infrastructure outputs.
Key responsibilities
The ICT Infrastructure Engineer's duties may include some/all of the following:
- Plan and manage infrastructure requirements to meet future infrastructure demand.
- Ensure the provision of infrastructure related operational support for WAN, LAN, WLAN, firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Mange delivery of satellite communications and delivery of enterprise applications over high latency links.
- Manage the prioritisation and escalation of infrastructure issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategies, operational policy and procedures and change initiatives.
- Undertake research on emerging technologies and provide recommendations on product suitability.
- Prepare, review and maintain documentation which may include design documentation, implementation plans, test plans. Resolve more complex infrastructure related incidents and problems.
- Manage, lead, and deliver projects that may have an agency wide impact.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate project plans and schedules in accordance with the agency's project management framework and consider project interdependencies.
- Collaborate with staff in immediate work area and with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee project design, governance arrangements and operational integration.
- Ensure project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Report on project objectives and outputs for presentation to the executive.
- Plan, manage and monitor financial budgets and oversee the management of contracts, procurement, resources and expenditure.
- Identify, assess, manage, escalate, report and monitor project risks, issues and benefits, including developing treatment strategies. deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
Mandatory Criteria
- Experience and knowledge in delivering ICT network infrastructure including WAN, LAN, WLAN, firewalls, routers, switches, and specifically in Satellite communications.
- Experience and knowledge in delivering Cyber Security and assurance projects.
- An ability to work under pressure against short timescales.
- Proven track record in leading technical teams and managing cross-disciplinary technical programs, from project definition to product delivery/demonstration.
Desirable Criteria
- Demonstrated experience and technical proficiency in design, management an deployment of wireless networking, Point of Presence (POP) and distributed networking.
- Ability to contribute to agency's continuous improvement by improving systems, processes and tools related to project management and reporting.
- Excellent Stakeholder management and ability to collaborate and communicate effectively that contributes to a cross-functional team development pipeline.
- Experience tracking a complex project and providing support to clear blocking issues.
- Familiarity with AGILE methodology and project tracking.
- Ability to produce talking points, project documentation and undertake research and issue resolution independently and as directed by the Program SRO and Delivery Lead.
