Mandatory Requirements:

  • Canberra based (or willing to travel regularly to Canberra)
  • Clearance NV1 or higher
  • Candidates at SFIA Level 4 or Level 5
General Requirements:
Candidates must meet several of the following criteria:
  • Experience with Defence Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Tailored Architecture Framework (TAF)
  • Proficiency in Model Based Systems Engineering tools (e.g., Catia Magic by Dassault)
  • Deep knowledge of TOGAF ADM, NAFv4, or UAF (one or more)
  • Experience with Disconnected and DDIL (Denied, Degraded, Intermittent & Limited) connectivity requirements
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture and Data Centric Security requirements
  • Understanding of NATO Federated Mission Networking and NATO C3 Taxonomy
  • Knowledge of Security Frameworks, including ISM, E8, PSPF, DSPF
  • Experience in Scaled Agile delivery methodologies
  • Ability to incorporate hardware and software requirements into architecture/engineering outputs
Role Overview:
As a Solution Architect, you will design and develop architecture solutions tailored to the needs of Defence. Specialization in one or more of the following areas is required:
  • Network & Gateway: Design core network fabrics and high-speed, low-latency networks over multiple bearers
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Create designs for a Defence Secret Hybrid Cloud leveraging Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and hyperscale technology
  • Security: Develop hierarchical security designs and network operations with end-to-end monitoring and control
  • Applications: Architect application hosting environments and lead application migration/modernization efforts
  • Identity Credential and Access Management (ICAM): Design solutions following ZTA and ICAM reference architectures
  • Data: Ensure the storage and transmission of data aligns with ACP240, Zero Trust, and Data Centricity Reference Architecture
  • Service Management: Design business processes/workflows, including Helpdesk/FrontDoor solutions
  • Defence Logistics: Focus on IT-related logistics solutions
  • End-to-End Monitoring and Control: Develop and integrate future state architectures for comprehensive monitoring and control
  • End User Environment: Design future state architectures for Enterprise and Warfighting environments, accommodating various client types
