EL1 Test Automation Engineer - Federal Government

Key Responsibilities
As an EL1 Test Automation Engineer, you will:
Conduct functional and automation test planning, preparation, and execution.
Design, write, and execute effective manual and automated test cases.
Create and maintain test data, and clearly document software defects.
Actively participate in requirements, analysis, and design phases to provide continuous quality feedback.
Provide coaching and mentoring to team members when required.
Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation for test procedures.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
Apply automation design principles to optimise functional automation solutions across projects.
Technical Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone with:
Strong experience in automation design and frameworks.
Hands-on expertise with Playwright and Cucumber.
Demonstrated ability to discover, reproduce, and retest software defects.
Experience producing high-quality test documentation.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
The Essentials
Location: Canberra preferred (other locations may be considered).
Eligibility: Australian citizenship is mandatory as AGSVA Security Clearance will be required fo the role.
Remuneration: Competitive Hourly rates based on skills and experience.
