About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Organisational Change & Communications (OCM) Lead to support a major digital transformation program delivered for one of our Defence clients.

This role forms part of a high-profile Defence digitalisation initiative modernising procurement frameworks through modularisation, digitisation, and the introduction of AI-enabled capabilities. The program is a key element of Defence's broader procurement reform agenda and will directly support improved governance, assurance, productivity, and user experience across Defence and industry stakeholders.

You will play a critical role in ensuring successful adoption of new digital tools, processes, and ways of working across complex, regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end-to-end change management strategies and governance frameworks

  • Lead stakeholder engagement and communications, ensuring consistent and clear messaging

  • Conduct change impact assessments, readiness planning, and adoption analysis

  • Develop and deliver training, enablement, and communications artefacts

  • Establish adoption metrics, reporting, and benefits realisation measures

  • Identify, manage, and mitigate change resistance and adoption risks

  • Support transition to business-as-usual (BAU), embedding sustainable change practices

  • Build and support change champion networks across the program

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience delivering organisational change and communications for large, complex digital programs

  • Strong capability in stakeholder engagement, communications planning, and training delivery

  • Experience supporting digital transformation and AI-enabled change adoption

  • Familiarity with Defence or government environments, including procurement processes

  • Working knowledge of PSPF, ISM, and ethical or responsible AI principles

  • Ability to produce clear, plain-language communications for diverse audiences

  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and influencing skills

Additional Requirements

  • Active NV1 security clearance (mandatory)

  • Australian Citizenship

  • Availability to work primarily onsite in Canberra

  • SFIA Level 5 capability with a recognised change management skillset (CIPM or equivalent)

Why This Role

This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant Defence digital transformation, working at the intersection of change, technology, procurement reform, and AI-enabled innovation within a secure and highly regulated environment.

If you are an experienced OCM professional looking to make a meaningful impact across Defence and industry, we'd like to hear from you.
