The Network are seeking an NV2 cleared Linux Engineer to support a critical Federal Government capability based in Canberra.
Contract: 6 months + 2 x 12-month extensions
Location: Canberra ACT (primarily onsite at Deakin - remote work may be considered)
Clearance: NV2 (mandatory)

As a Linux Engineer, you will support and sustain a newly deployed ICT capability critical to operational outcomes. You will design, develop, and maintain Linux-based software components, automate installation and configuration processes, and diagnose and resolve system faults across complex deployed environments. Working as part of a highly skilled engineering team, you will provide technical advice, contribute to continuous improvement, and ensure solutions are fully documented and integrated with interfacing systems.
Who are we looking for:
Must have:
- Active NV2 security clearance
- Advanced practitioner experience in Linux system software engineering
- Strong experience with automation for software installation and configuration
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve system faults in complex environments
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within technical teams
- Strong documentation skills and experience integrating systems
Desirable:
- Exposure to Windows-based environments
- Experience supporting incident management or monitoring systems
- Background in highly secure government environments
