About the Role
We are seeking a versatile and technically capable Junior Automation Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong scripting skills, foundational system knowledge across Linux and Windows environments, and a keen interest in DevOps and enterprise automation. The successful candidate will work in a complex enterprise environment, supporting automation initiatives that span infrastructure, cloud, database and application layers.
This is a hands-on role requiring experience with Python, bash scripting, API integrations, and CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can work independently, communicate clearly, and navigate enterprise systems and processes effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and bash
- Support integration and deployment activities across Linux and Windows systems
- Operate securely on remote servers and manage access controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable automation solutions
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI
- Design and implement API-based integrations to automate workflows across enterprise tools and platforms
- Automate interactions with systems such as ServiceNow, Splunk, Database and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) using RESTful APIs
- Contribute to infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform - nice to have)
- Follow DevOps best practices including version control, automated testing, and continuous integration
- Participate in enterprise processes such as Change Advisory Board (CAB) reviews and ServiceNow workflows
- Work with databases, cloud platforms, and networking components to support end-to-end automation use cases
Here's what you need
- Proficient in Python with strong hands-on coding experience
- Solid understanding of bash scripting and core Linux commands
- Familiarity with Windows systems and PowerShell scripting (nice to have)
- Experience with RESTful API integration and automation using APIs
- Hands-on experience automating workflows with tools like ServiceNow, Splunk, and cloud platforms(Azure preferably)
- Experience with version control systems such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or Azure Repos
- Exposure to CI/CD tools and DevOps workflows
- Basic understanding of networking, databases, and enterprise IT environments
- Knowledge of secure access and remote server management
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to clearly explain the "how" and "why" behind technical solutions
