About the Company
This Government Department is responsible for providing social, health and child support services across Australia, with high quality IT systems in place to support Australian's located in both central, and many times, rural locations across the country.
Having gone through major digital transformation over the past 5 years, as well as providing core infrastructure that other Government agencies continue to leverage, continued improvement to connectivity and useability is at the forefront of their IT agenda.
About the role
You will be working with a large team of network and gateway engineers to manage the design, installation, and operation of network security technology across a geographically dispersed group of staff and users across Australia, including in CBD and remote areas.
You will be involved in:
- Managing the design, installation and operation of deployed systems with technologies including Palo Alto, Checkpoint and Cisco firewalls, F5, email security, VPN and packet brokers.
- Supporting the design, procurement and deployment of hardware and equipment
- Provide complex BAU support
- Prepare and review technical documentation and reports
Skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience with and/or detailed understanding of network firewalls including Palo Alto, Checkpoint and Cisco firewalls.
- Demonstrated experience in the design and integration of secure internet gateway environments.
- Demonstrated experience in the design and deployment of network infrastructure including Cisco data centre routers, switches, BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
- Demonstrated experience with Australian government ISM and Essential 8
