Role Overview
We are currently hiring for an AWS Cloud Engineer to join a cross-functional delivery team working on high-impact government initiatives. This long-term opportunity involves contributing to the design, build, and optimisation of secure, cloud-native solutions in AWS. The role suits someone who thrives in hands-on technical environments and is passionate about delivering scalable, well-architected infrastructure using modern DevOps and cloud practices.
This position plays a key role in supporting the ongoing development of cloud platforms aligned to strategic outcomes and well-defined delivery timeframes.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and optimise cloud-native infrastructure within secure AWS environments
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and maintenance using IaC tools
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders in an Agile team structure
- Support monitoring, alerting, logging, backup and recovery
- Troubleshoot, optimise, and enhance performance across complex cloud systems
- Maintain technical documentation to support transparency and repeatability
- Ensure adherence to security and compliance requirements
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and cloud operation strategies

- AWS Services: Lambda, Glue, S3, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, API Gateway, EventBridge, IAM, KMS, Kinesis
- Infrastructure & Automation: Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines
- Containerisation & Orchestration: Kubernetes (EKS), Docker
- Monitoring & Operations: CloudWatch, AWS Config, GuardDuty, custom alerting & dashboards
- Networking & Security: VPC, IAM, security policies, encryption, secure transport
- Delivery Methodology: Agile / DevOps within cross-functional government teams
