About the Role
The Solution Architect is responsible for enhancing the organisation's digital and ecommerce capabilities through strategic solution architecture. This role focuses on designing and deploying large-scale digital applications, preferably leveraging cloud technology, to improve user and customer experiences. In addition to architecture development, the role involves collaborating with analysts, developers, and engineers to enhance digital capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Analysing and refining solution architectures to meet stakeholder needs.
- Creating and maintaining enterprise architecture standards, roadmaps, and methodologies.
- Translating strategic goals into actionable solution architectures and blueprints.
- Managing architecture risks and ensuring compliance with technical and business requirements.
- Developing technical designs aligned with the organisation's technology roadmap.
- Collaborating with internal teams to implement and optimize digital solutions.
- Ensuring adherence to enterprise standards and best practices.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years' experience in defining application solutions architecture, integrations, infrastructure, and cloud architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data-related services, including data integration tools and ETL processes.
- Experience in big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka), data warehousing solutions, and data lake architectures.
- Proven track record in leading and delivering complex data projects and designing scalable, high-performance data solutions.
- Experience with projects exceeding $10 million, particularly within the government sector, is highly desirable.
- Expertise in transformation programs (e.g., data center refresh, migration to cloud).
- Knowledge of integration architecture, including iPaaS, API Gateways, ETL, ESB, and related technologies (e.g., REST, JSON).
- Familiarity with Virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, OpenShift) and emerging technologies in digital and cyber security domains.
- Proficiency in MS Project and MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
