About the role
The Senior Technical Business Analyst will play a critical role in delivering a high-priority program focused on building a new in-house core ecosystem and transitioning away from legacy platforms. This is a hands-on contract role suited to an experienced delivery-focused analyst who can operate independently, translate complex business and technical requirements into clear outcomes, and make an immediate impact.
You will work closely with stakeholders across technology, underwriting, operations, product, finance and PMO teams to define requirements, support solution design, and drive successful delivery. The role requires strong domain expertise in life insurance and experience working on complex core system or policy administration initiatives.
Skills & experience - Proven experience as a Senior Technical Business Analyst delivering complex system initiatives or core platform builds
- Strong life insurance domain knowledge, including policy administration systems and product lifecycle understanding
- Demonstrated ability to independently elicit, analyse, and document business and technical requirements
- Experience writing high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria suitable for direct development
- Strong understanding of SDLC and agile delivery methodologies
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and technical teams to support solution design and delivery
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills across business and technical audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a pragmatic, outcome-driven approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Experience working within lean or small-to-medium sized organisations
Preferred: - Experience with legacy system replacement or core platform transformation programs
- Hands-on experience using Jira, Confluence, and Miro within Agile delivery environments
- Exposure to AI tools that support analysis, prototyping or requirements development
