Job Title: Scheduler - Defence ICT Projects

About The Role:
Join the dynamic team at the Warfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation (WSO), ICT Delivery Division, within the Chief Information Officer Group of the Department of Defence. At the forefront of innovation, supporting critical Defence projects to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Scheduler to join the SEA2273 Sub program. The successful candidate will play a vital role in coordinating and managing task-based workflows within the Scaled Agile frameworks. This role requires a strategic thinker who can leverage project management toolsets to drive automation and streamline reporting processes, ultimately contributing to the success of the Defence ICT projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and utilise mechanisms to measure, record, and report progress of activities according to agreed schedules and plans.
  • Review project progress regularly, ensuring alignment with changing scope, objectives, and constraints.
  • Analyze options to identify variances and forecast impacts on schedules.
  • Develop responses to risks and schedule changes, obtaining necessary approvals to meet project objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding schedule status, risks, and trends.
  • Coordinate project timelines with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor project timelines and deadlines, identifying potential delays and facilitating timely interventions.
Requirements:
  • Experience working on large Defence ICT projects is essential.
  • Proficiency in project support, scheduling, project administration, and team management/support.
  • Advanced skills in project scheduling software such as MS Project and Jira.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Understanding of Defence Capability and project lifecycle.
  • Bachelor's degree in project management or a related field.
  • Experience with Project Management methodologies (Agile, Prince2, PMBOK).
  • Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira & Confluence) in a large project environment
  • NV1 Clearance
