Working with a well-established Government department who are undergoing an expansive technology transformation and uplift – large body of work with a view for extension.
The Role
The Solutions Architect assumes a critical role in creating and developing all components of solutions architectures. This role primarily focuses on delivering new technology solutions, particularly within SAP systems, to drive growth and enhance end-user outcomes across business units and/or divisions.
The ideal candidate for the position of Solution Architect SAP will have proven expertise in the cross-functional aspects of SAP S/4 HANA, ARIBA, SuccessFactors, and other SAP systems. Proficiency in enterprise integrations using middleware tools and platforms is essential.
Core Duties
- Solution Architecture Analysis: Undertakes the analysis of current and planned solution architecture deliverables. Ensures alignment with stakeholder and customer needs through sound Business Requirements Specifications (BRS), bridging the gap between customer expectations and IT capabilities.
- Ownership and Development: Maintains and takes ownership of the solution architecture for the Enterprise Applications platform, with a particular emphasis on SAP. Contributes to solutions within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Technical Design and Solutions: Develops architectures, technical designs, and solutions for programs or projects in adherence to the Enterprise Architecture (EA) framework, principles, and governance processes.
- Strategic Alignment: Ensures solutions align with the strategic direction for technology investments. Oversees the development, testing, and implementation of solutions, reporting on delivery commitments to meet agreed timeframes.
- Liaison and Advocacy: Acts as the lead technical representative for specified business units or divisions. Liaises with third parties and vendors/suppliers, advocating for program or project solutions. Communicates technical designs and drives delivery against stakeholder needs, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs).
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in all facets of solution architecture at a senior level, with a strong emphasis on SAP. Proven architecture and analytical skills, showcasing the ability to achieve outcomes through influential collaboration.
- Experience working as a solution architect to deliver outcomes in SAP S/4 HANA and other related Enterprise applications. Essential cross-modular experience within SAP, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of its various modules.
- Experience in Solution Design for the SAP Upgrade from ECC to SAP S/4 HANA, including impact assessment, discovery, and solution delivery of the upgrade roadmap. Experience with managing impact assessment of User Experience design and process improvement in the upgrade project is advantageous.
- Experience as a solutions architect on projects exceeding $10 million, particularly within the context of large-scale government projects, is highly desirable.
- Delivery experience with CI/CD pipelines and associated tools. Prior experience with other cloud services and infrastructure, including AZURE, AWS, SAP S/4 HANA, and ServiceNow.
