Join the Department of Defence as an ICT Support Officer within the SEA2273 Sub Program of the Warfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation (WSO), ICT Delivery Division, Chief Information Officer Group. This is an exciting opportunity to support the messaging infrastructure for Navy operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Messaging Infrastructure Management: Oversee and support on-premises messaging infrastructure in a multi-forest distributed environment.
- Integration & Maintenance: Integrate complex ICT infrastructure software with messaging systems and proactively maintain, patch, and upgrade the distributed enterprise.
- Issue Resolution: Analyse, log, track, and resolve complex messaging issues; develop and implement defect remediation strategies.
- Documentation: Create and peer review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), build guides, and related artifacts.
- Training Support: Maintain and assist with the training suite to deliver high-quality training for ship staff in Minerva courses.
- User Management: Manage user accounts for Minerva ITS admins, Business App admins, and standard users on the Core system.
- Onsite Training: Occasionally assist with training of ship CIS on Minerva systems.
- Deployment: Build IGEL OS Minerva laptops for deployment and manage certificate renewals (Web Cert SSL and Ping Fed).
- Incident Management: Work on-call as part of a team (occasionally), ensuring incident priorities are managed and SLA commitments are met.
- Vendor Engagement: Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot issues related to Minerva systems.
- Knowledge Articles: Update and create knowledge articles to assist ship staff with day-to-day troubleshooting.
Highly developed knowledge of:
- Exchange and AD administration
- Message Transfer Agents o Microsoft Skype administration
- Experience with XMPP chat tools
- Expertise with Lotus Domino products
- Experience with VoIP trunking
- NV2 Security Clearance is mandatory (NV1 may be considered).
- Experience in managing messaging infrastructure and complex ICT systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Experience in creating documentation and training materials is desirable.
