About the role

Reporting to the Group Executive, the General Manager Sales is responsible for new business sales in the Government business unit. Their main purpose is to develop and deliver on Government sales strategy, in addition to achieving targets. This role is a great opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset to build a high-performing team and drive success.

  • Sales strategy and delivery
  • Lead, engage and motivate the team to deliver on plans and outcomes required
  • Lead effective use of the CRM
  • Drives sales activity to ensure targets are achieved
  • Ensure appropriate standards in all customer interactions to maintain margin, return and positive relationships
  • Act as an escalation point for issues and own problem resolution
  • Perform regular 1:1's with team members for coaching and performance purpose
  • Develop skills growth and create career progression opportunities for your team
  • Recruit and develop an engaged and high-performing team

Skills & experience

  • This role requires Australian citizenship and ideally NV1 clearance.
  • Strong experience managing, mentoring and empowering people
  • Experience managing customer issues and resolving problems
  • Demonstrated experience building a high-performing team
  • Monthly and quarterly Forecasting
  • Ability to work across various functions collaboratively
  • Contract negotiations
