Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join a team in a large federal government department. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a keen understanding of business processes. The Business Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to gather requirements, analyse data, and translate business needs into technical solutions. This role plays a critical part in driving the success of our projects and initiatives by ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology solutions.
Responsibilities:
  • Requirement Gathering: Work closely with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document business requirements for new projects or system enhancements.
  • Business Process Analysis: Evaluate current business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
  • Solution Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and propose technical solutions that address business needs and requirements.
  • Documentation: Create detailed documentation including business requirements documents, functional specifications, process diagrams, and user stories.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure alignment and consensus on project objectives.
  • Change Management: Support change management efforts by assisting with user training, communication plans, and implementation strategies.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in testing activities to ensure that developed solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and market trends to drive continuous improvement in business processes and systems.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Solid understanding of business process modelling techniques, requirements gathering methodologies, and system development life cycle (SDLC) principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA, Trello, or Microsoft Project.
