Background:
Join a dynamic team dedicated to supporting Defence's documents and records management system. Our company plays a vital role in the ongoing operation, development, and integration of this system with other Defence systems. Operating on Solaris and Windows platforms with an Oracle database, we are seeking a talented Software Test Engineer to ensure the reliability and functionality of our applications.

Scope of Work:
Under the guidance of the Test Team Leader, you will be responsible for planning and executing tests on the Objective application and related tools across Windows and Solaris platforms.

Your role includes:
  • Collaborating with development teams to understand product releases and develop acceptance criteria.
  • Creating test plans, scenarios, and scripts for each release.
  • Conducting various testing activities such as functional, performance, load, integration, and regression testing.
  • Reporting and tracking issues found during testing and assisting with issue triaging.
  • Developing test reports and automated testing capabilities if required.
  • Participating in requirements gathering and user acceptance testing.
Essential Acceptance Criteria:
  1. Security clearance at NV2 (NV1 will be accepted, with willingness to upgrade).
  2. More than 3 years of experience in software application testing.
  3. Proficiency in testing within Windows, Solaris, and Oracle environments, including scripting and SQL.
  4. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  5. Proven ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
  6. Ability to think creatively and manage changing priorities.
Desirable Criteria:
  1. Automated testing skills and experience with scripting languages and XML.
  2. Familiarity with the Objective records management system or similar platforms.
  3. Relevant tertiary qualifications.
  4. Experience with testing tools such as HP ALM and JIRA.
  5. Familiarity with software applications like TOAD, FileZilla, and PuTTY.
