Test Analyst

You will be working with a well-established Government department who are undergoing an expansive technology transformation and uplift – large body of work with a view for extension.

About the Role


This role goes beyond the conventional checkbox testing; it offers a chance to explore the core technology and engage with bespoke systems. We are actively seeking testers with a flair for creativity and a keen eye for detail.

You will collaborate seamlessly within a dynamic team environment, actively engage in testing activities spanning across diverse projects, and contribute significantly to the formulation and execution of robust test strategies.
  • Strategize comprehensive test plans and meticulous manual test scripts aligned with system requirements, with a focus on clear communication and presentation of the test plan to senior management and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and buy-in at every level.
  • Employ consistent and reliable functional testing methodologies to validate solutions, ensuring they meet the intended purposes with precision and reliability
  • Craft precise integration test scripts meticulously designed to evaluate the end-to-end business processes, ensuring seamless operations and optimal performance
  • Oversee the system and integration testing processes during software upgrades, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions to operations.
  • Proficiently execute SQL queries to thoroughly examine audit logs and error logs within the ESB, ensuring data integrity and system reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with functional, technical, and security teams to swiftly address and correct errors.
  • Expertly manage defect retesting and resolution, ensuring acceptance by system owners. Monitor outstanding issues efficiently using Mercury Quality Centre (MQC)
  • Proficiently executing SQL queries to thoroughly examine audit logs and error logs within the ESB, ensuring data integrity and system reliability.
  • Efficiently coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business user teams.
  • Provide detailed test reports and status updates to stakeholders.
 
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a QA Test Engineer with a significant focus on manual testing
  • Proven track record as a Test Analyst within large organizations and navigating complex systems.
  • Expertise in designing business scenarios, crafting test scripts, and conducting Business Fit for Purpose and User Acceptance Testing with precision.
  • Extensive experience in ESB/MuleSoft testing and proficiency in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Proficient in basic JSON and SQL for query execution and data extraction, leveraging tools like POSTMAN.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing industry-standard software testing tools such as MQC, Quick Test Professional (QTP), Jira, Confluence, and others.
